ECIS 2006 ran a dedicated track on the Semantic Web and information systems: ontologies, metadata models, agent-based integration and the practical question of whether machine-readable descriptions could make enterprise systems interoperate.

The track sat where information systems research met the web standards community. Papers argued over representation and reasoning while practitioners asked what any of it would change in a system they already ran.

This archive note preserves the subject of the track page that academic pages still link to. The original programme, paper PDFs and submission system are gone; the conference itself is not affiliated with this site.
